Step-by-Step Installation Guide
  1. System Decontamination (System Flush): Before removing the old pump, drain and flush the fuel tank and fuel lines. Metal shavings from a failed pump can circulate and instantly destroy your new unit.
  2. Inspect the Transfer Pump & Filters: Replace both primary and secondary fuel filters. Use high-efficiency (2-micron) filters. Inspect the fuel transfer pump for wear; if weak, the high-pressure pump won't receive enough fuel.
  3. Oil Quality Check: Change the engine oil and oil filter. HEUI pumps use engine oil to create high-pressure fuel injection. Dirty or incorrect viscosity oil will cause immediate performance issues.
  4. Lubrication on Install: Apply clean engine oil to the O-rings and pump drive gear. Warning: Never dry-start. Fill the pump with clean diesel through the inlet before connecting the lines.
